Auburndale, Florida – The Pan-American Lacrosse Association (PALA) is pleased to host the
first-ever PALA Sixes Cup at our headquarters facility in Lake Myrtle Sports Complex over
Labor Day weekend September 3rd through September 5th, 2021.
It is expected the PALA Sixes Cup will feature 10 teams respectively in the Men’s and Women’s
Senior Divisions. National Teams representing Governing Bodies from Colombia, Peru, Jamaica,
Puerto Rico, Mexico, US Virgin Islands, Barbados, Argentina, the Haudenosaunee Nation,
Panama and the Dominican Republic will be competing and participating in the inaugural event.
USA Lacrosse, Chile Lacrosse and the Iroquois Nationals are expected to send delegates to
observe and consult for coaching and development purposes.
In conjunction with the PALA Sixes Cup, World Lacrosse will be present at Lake Myrtle Sports
Complex to conduct a Coaching Development and an Officiating Development Clinic, all
centered around the exciting Sixes Discipline.
The PALA Sixes Cup will be the first Continental Federation international lacrosse competition
to be played since PALA’s inception. PALA will also be the first Continental Federation to host
and adopt the Sixes Discipline in a Federation-wide event.

Earlier this week, World Lacrosse — the international federation for women’s and men’s lacrosse —
introduced the name, brand identity and first phase of technical resources for the new 6 v 6 discipline that
has been developed through a comprehensive consultation, trial and refinement process involving players,
coaches, officials and leaders of lacrosse around the world.
The new discipline of lacrosse will be formally known as World Lacrosse Sixes. On a more
conversational or familiar basis, the new discipline will be referred to as Sixes.
